The school is seeking to appoint a passionate and inspirational outreach teacher to help drive the widening participation vision and ambitions of the school. The post is either part-time or full-time, ranging from 0.4-1.0FTE.
- Closing date: 28 Nov 2025
- Salary: £29,045 - £53,345 (Full time salary)
- Hours: Full or part time
Outreach is a fundamental part of life at KCLMS. We offer year-round maths, physics and computer science enrichment to students from disadvantaged backgrounds and groups traditionally under-represented in mathematical sciences thanks to generous donations to the school. Every teacher contributes to the programme by running a weekly after-school club and every member of staff is involved in the week-long summer schools that we run in the summer term both at KCLMS and at KCL. We are a delivery partner for Axiom Maths and share their vision to reduce the number of students from low-income backgrounds who perform highly at KS2 but don’t go on to perform well at GCSE. We also work with teachers to provide professional development around the teaching of Mathematics, Physics and Further Mathematics A Levels
The successful candidate will be able to convey enthusiasm about mathematics. They may already have a proven record of outstanding teaching, or they may be new to the profession, in which case they would be supported by the school’s thorough mentoring programme. A vital qualification will be that they share the vision of the school to help young people with a particular aptitude for mathematics find stretch and excitement in a curriculum that fosters intellectual growth and curiosity
This post may be either part-time or full-time, ranging from 0.4 to 1.0 FTE (full-time equivalent), i.e. from 4 to 5 days per week. There is also scope to tailor the job specification to the candidate.
The post will commence from 5 January 2026.
