In my town there are two football leagues, containing a total of 39 teams between them.

During a season, every  team plays one match against each of the other teams in the same league. Teams are awarded 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and no points for a loss.

Last year there were 171 more matches played in one league than the other. Chelchestpool FC lost just 3 matches all season and ended up with a total of 32 points.
