Challenge 229: Puzzling Pyramid

Can you do these 3-D geometry calculations?

A slanted square-based pyramid just fits inside a cube with side length 10cm, so that each vertex of its base is at the mid-point of one of the edges of the base of the pyramid. The top vertex of the pyramid is at one of the vertices of the top face of the cube.

Calculate the exact value of

(i) the volume of the pyramid

(ii) the surface area of the pyramid
