A train has nine carriages, and as it arrives at its destination, there is a different number of passengers in each carriage. In total there are over 200 passengers on the train.

Prove that as the train pulls in to its destination station, it must be possible to find four carriages which contain over 100 passengers between them. (You should assume that the passengers don’t move from their carriage until the train has stopped!)
