Challenge 117: Money on the table
Can you find the smallest possible perimeter of this quadrilateral?
I have four £2 coins which are placed flat, without overlapping, so that they are inside a quadrilateral drawn on a horizontal table top. What is the smallest possible perimeter of such a quadrilateral?
What if two of the £2 coins are replaced with 1p coins?
(You may assume that the diameter of a £2 coin is 3cm and the diameter of a 1p coin is 2cm.)
