Free Professional Development Course from King’s Maths School

King’s Maths School (KCLMS) – the top‑performing state school in the country for A Level Maths and Further Maths – is offering a free six‑session CPD programme designed to support and inspire teachers of A Level Further Maths.

This course provides a unique opportunity to:

  • Explore the KCLMS approach to collaborative, problem‑solving‑focused teaching and learning
  • Deepen your understanding of key Further Maths topics, including:
    • Complex Numbers
    • Matrices
    • Calculus
    • Trigonometry
    • Further Mechanics
    • Further Statistics
  • Discuss teaching strategies and share ideas with a network of fellow KS5 Further Maths teachers
  • Gain access to high‑quality KCLMS teaching resources to use in your own classroom
  • Connect with other enthusiastic practitioners and build a supportive professional community

The course may also include opportunities to explore wider curriculum content or discuss ways of supporting high‑attaining students – for example, preparing learners for university admissions tests or designing meaningful extension work.


Course Format

  • Six sessions, each 90 minutes
  • Free to attend
  • Delivered by experienced KCLMS teachers

CPD for Computer Science Teachers

AQA A Level Computer Science: some of the more numeric topics

This weekly online CPD aims to go through a range of the more numeric topics in the AQA A Level Computer Science syllabus, to help teachers new to teaching the AQA A Level.

Topics will include

  • Floating point binary
  • AQA Assembly Language
  • Error detection and correction codes
  • Encryption
  • Intro to functional programming in Haskell.

Although this CPD will be useful for anyone new to teaching A Level Computer Science, the content is geared towards the AQA specification.


Course Format

  • Five sessions, each 60 minutes
  • Optional 30 mins in addition for Q&A
  • Free to attend
  • Delivered by experienced KCLMS teachers
